Bemidji State Women’s Golf set to host Tracy Lane Memorial this Monday and Tuesday
The Bemidji State University Women’s Golf team will host the Tracy Lane Memorial this Monday and Tuesday at the Bemidji Town & Country Club which will play to a par 72 and 5,919 yards.
Last year, senior Mollie Albrecht won the individual title with an eight-over 152 to win by two shots. As a team, Bemidji State placed sixth with a 710 out of nine teams. In addition to Albrecht, senior Maddy Sawyer and junior Savannah Byfuglien competed at Tracy Lane. Sawyer and Byfuglien each carded 189’s to tie for 42nd.
This year’s field will feature eight teams in addition to Bemidji State, there will be Concordia-St. Paul, Minnesota State, Concordia College Moorhead, MSU Moorhead, Minot State, UMary, Minnesota-Crookston and North Dakota. Minnesota State won last year’s tournament with a 641 to win by eight-strokes. Concordia-St. Paul (third), Minnesota-Crookston (fourth), UMary (fifth), Minot State (seventh), MSU Moorhead (eighth) and Concordia College Moorhead (ninth) also played in last year’s Tracy Lane.
BSU opened the 2023 fall season on Aug. 28-29 at the Maverick Invitational in Faribault, Minn. The Beavers tied for fourth as a team, with Albrecht placing seventh with a 161. Sawyer posted a 177, and Byfuglien finished with a 182. Sophomore Isabella Depew tallied a 204, while freshmen Elli Anderson had a 189, Haylee Kammann with a 191 and Nakomis Mitchell with a 205 competed in their first collegiate tournaments.
First round on Monday will begin at 9 a.m., followed by a shotgun start on Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m.
