Football Opens at Michigan Tech

Bemidji State University Football will start its season on Thursday at 5 p.m. CST in Houghton, Michigan, against Michigan Technological University at Kearly Stadium. Last season, the Beavers defeated the Huskies 19-13 in overtime, marking the start of a successful season that led to their first NCAA Playoffs Quarterfinal appearance and a record of 10-4. The Beavers have made the NCAA playoffs for the last four years and aim for another strong season.

In 2024, MTU finished with a 7-4 record, including a memorable four-overtime win against South Dakota School of Mines. Historically, the Beavers have an 11-20 record against MTU since their first game in 1955. The game can be streamed on the Beaver Radio Network, and the Beavers will continue their season with an NSIC game against Winona State University next week on Sep. 6 at 1 p.m.
