The Bemidji State University women’s basketball team will host Northland College Nov. 18 for its 2014-15 home opener. Tip off is scheduled for 7 p.m. from BSU Gymnasium.

BSU kicked off the season with two exhibition games as it took on University of North Dakota Nov. 2 and North Dakota State University Nov. 7. BSU fell in both games 79-43 and 100-47, respectively.

The Beavers opened 2014-15 regular season play this last weekend at the Radisson Hotel Roseville Classic in St. Paul, Minn. where they took on Fort Hays State University Friday and No. 24 Pittsburg State University Saturday. The Beavers went 0-2 on the weekend, falling 71-65 and 75-56, respectively.

Tatum Sheley led the Beavers against FHSU as she put up 16 of BSU’s 31 points off the bench. She was 6-of-11 from the field and 4-of-7 from three-point range. Sheley also marked four rebounds, one assist and one block.

Emily Reichert posted career highs against FHSU and led the Beavers in rebounds (8) and assists (7).

Aimee Pelzer led BSU with 32 points on the weekend shooting 47.8 percent (11-23) from the field, 28.6 percent (4-14) from three-point range and a perfect 1.000 (6-6) from the charity stripe. Pelzer finished the weekend adding 10 rebounds, five assists, and five steals in 60 minutes of play.

Pelzer set a career-high and team-high 18 points against Pittsburg State Saturday, going 5-of-14 from the field and 2-of-9 from three-point range. Her perfect 6-of-6 from the line against the Gorillas was also a career high.

BSU ended the weekend shooting 33.9 percent (43-127) from the field and 28.9 percent (13-45) from three-point range.

The Beavers were outshot on the weekend but took advantage at the charity stripe as they shot 78.6 percent (22-28).

BSU totaled 80 rebounds, 10 blocks and 10 steals to finish the weekend. The team pulled down a season best 41 rebounds against Pittsburg State Saturday.
