Bemidji State moves its record to 8-14 overall and 4-14 in league play with the win, while the Cougars improve to 8-16 overall and 5-13 in conference action. The Beavers will be back in action Feb. 13-14 as they hit the road for the final time in regular season action at University of Mary and Minot State University.
Last Saturday against Sioux Falls:
-The bright spots in the Beavers’ offense came from freshman Clayton Elrod who led the team with 19 points, a career-best. Elrod did not just put the ball in the basket he was not able to miss as he went 5-for-5 from outside the arc and was 7-for-7 overall from the floor.
-DJ Anderson put a spark in the BSU offense as well, scoring in key moment with a total of 14 points, which included going 3-for-3 from the foul line. Anderson was 5-of-7 from the floor.
-Shane White led the rebounding effort, pulling down five of the Beavers 21 boards.
-The Beavers outshot the Cougars, going 49 percent from the floor and 46 percent from beyond the arc compared to USF’s 48 percent and 29 percent, respectively.
