The Bemidji State University volleyball team staged a comeback on the road to earn their first Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference victory of the season Tuesday night at the University of Minnesota Crookston. Down 2-0 after the match’s first two sets, the Beavers (3-9, 1-2 NSIC) won three straight sets against the Golden Eagles (5-6, 1-2 NSIC).

The Beavers and Golden Eagles traded points early through the first set with the score being tied eight times. Minnesota Crookston would get their larges lead of the set late by scoring five straight points to lead 23-18. UMC would defeat the Beavers 25-19 to take the early lead, 1-0.

BSU won by scores of: 19-25, 24-26, 25-23, 26-24 and 18-16.

Junior Amanda Tronick and senior Ashley Kiecker set career-highs after Troncik posted 22 kills while Kiecker earned 48 assists to surpass her previous career-high by one. Junior Jessica Yost also set a new season-high after she posted 22 kills to tie for the team lead

Senior Kayla DeJong reached 10th all-time on BSU’s career digs list after she tallied 19 digs to reach 1,124 in her career.
